Have you ever dreamed of being your own boss? The Hub is offering a group of youth a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about business ownership AND the option to open and run their own retail store!

Learn all you need to know about marketing, sales, budgeting and more – then put your new skills to the test by opening a retail store in a prime downtown location. You will be supported the whole way through by our Business Development Coordinator!

SPROUT HAS TWO PARTS:​

 

Part 1: Training

​

Attend one session a week from November 3rd to December 22nd from 6:30-8:00pm at the Hub in Ripley. Training will include the following topics:

Thursday, November 3 @ 6:30 - Intro & Business Basics

Thursday November 10 @ 6:30 – Emotional Intelligence

Thursday, November 17 @ 6:30 – Marketing 101

Thursday, November 24 from 4:30-6:30pm - Networking Event (no formal class, The Hub and Catapult Grey-Bruce are co-hosting a networking event, participants are welcome to attend)

Thursday, December 1 @ 6:30 - Financial Management

Thursday, December 8 @ 6:30 - Marketing 201

Thursday, December 15 @ 6:30 - Sales & Customer Service

Thursday, December 22 @ 6:30 – Program Wrap Up

 

Part 2 (Optional): Retail Operation

A select group of participants will be invited to move on to Sprout Part 2: Retail Operation. Participants will operate the store from February - June 2023 open on evenings and weekends. Participants will use their new financial management skills to operate the store and split the profits (after expenses).
